If your child is attending an after-school club in their own school, the school will usually (but not always) provide a device for your child (desktop, laptop or tablet), if your child is attending an after-school/Saturday club or holiday camp in a different venue (ie not their own school), they may need to bring their own device. The booking form will make it clear if a device will be provided or not.

RECOMMENDED MINIMUM SPECIFICATION FOR CHILDREN BRINGING THEIR OWN DEVICE

  • Ages 5-8: a charged tablet with a browser is sufficient

  • Ages 8 and above: a charged laptop with a browser (Google Chrome is preferred), less than 5 years old with 4GB RAM and 1GB free storage

  • Ability to access WIFI

    Please don’t worry if your child doesn’t have this specification of device, it is a recommendation only, and we can usually find a way around any technical issues

  • We may, from time to time, request that software be installed on your child’s device. If this is the case, we will email home to ask you to do this

  • All devices should have anti-virus protection and Windows/tablet OS and iOS/MacOS updates should be enabled

  • You may need to disable any screen time limits if the timing is going to restrict access during club times

  • If the device is password or PIN protected, please ensure your child knows how to log in
